Rob Greenhalgh (GBR/AUS)

 Nomination
Straight off the Puma and a cab to the airport and the silver bird from St Petersburg to France for the Mark Foy ‘skiff worlds’ trophy in 18-footers in Carnac…with the first race less than 48 hours after the Volvo Race finish. Greenhalgh went on to take his latest skiff title after a final-day battle with Grant Rollerson and Howie Hamlin, to add to his VOR win on ABN Amro and runner-up spot this time with Ken Read on the shoe…
 Why they won
The brilliant Nathan Outteridge will certainly get another chance, but given that last time Greenhalgh went up against Francis Joyon straight after his incredible round-the-world record we were delighted to see Rob take this month’s win. ‘Always gives 110%’ – Mike Sanderson; ‘An exemplary shipmate!’ – Rick Deppe; ‘Nice one, Bobo!’ – Charlotte Kootstra; ‘The most talented sailor I know’ – Richard Woof; ‘Go Rob!’ – countless members of the Pope family!
