Balance 580
Description
The Balance 580 was designed for sailors with speed in their hearts but luxury on their minds.
With her powerful 2,255-square foot-sail plan the 580 ghosts along in 5 knots of wind while others are burning diesel. But when It’s blowing, furl in her headsails, reef her down, and fly. She is built to withstand the worst weather.
The 580 is a natural progression from our now famous 526 and the highest performance Balance catamaran we have ever designed or built, yet she carries an enormous open-plan salon, gorgeous cabinets, spacious cockpit and truly luxurious cabins and bathrooms.
With her owner-version configuration, the Balance 580 easily accommodates six people. We also offer the 580 in four and five cabin versions. And Balance’s innovative salon table converts into a queen-size bed so you can always host another couple. It is also a place to hang out, read a book, or sleep when your partner is on watch. Her master shower aft is luxurious. And the 580 offers more cabinetry than any performance catamaran of her size and class. Each and every one we craft is a semi-custom labor of love made specifically for you.
With her carbon reinforced structure, foam core hulls, and 100% epoxy construction, she’s a high-performance luxury voyager for those who refuse to compromise. Upwind she points high, with little leeway, in the 9 to 12 knot range with her high aspect daggerboards. Reaching in true winds between 8 and 16 knots she’ll do wind-speed or better with ease. Put her in stiff winds and surf and let the excitement begin as she accelerates into the 20’s. Our 526 already won the Cape to Rio race in 2023, so imagine what a 580 will do! She’s ready to compete with any racing catamaran in the world, but the best thing is, she carries significant interior and cockpit volumes and boasts all of the finest equipment available in the marine world today.
Hulls 1 and 2 are currently on order and under build and will be launched in the fall of 2023. The present images in this posting are renders, as well as photos of these first two models under build.
