Charles Hall-Thompson arrives on the platform of the Royal Yacht Squadron and the convivial murmuring chat of the various members and race officials ceases as they gather round for the briefing on today’s race. Charles is the Squadron’s Chief Race Officer. Out on the water some large classic yachts are gathering; their gaff mainsails are up – three of them are schooners, and together with the cutters they recreate an Edwardian scene.
