Hervé Devaux was a passionate engineer with a vision. He successfully gained his PhD at Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA), in Lyon, France’s leading postgraduate engineering school – which is appropriately located on Avenue Albert Einstein. He began his career as a university assistant, then moved to the Marechal mast-building company in La Rochelle where he pioneered some of the first composite rigs in the early 1980s
