Hard to know even where to start a write-up on the Vendée Globe! I guess start day would be a good place. I will always remember going down the famous Les Sables d’Olonne channel for the first time in 2008 aboard Ecover 3, as a wide-eyed nipper seeing off Mike Golding on his third Vendée Globe. Back then they were heading into a Bay of Biscay depression which ended up seeing several boats turning back to Les Sables and several people abandoning the race on the first night.
