Every four to five years I like to do a road trip. I mean a real road trip… from the left coast to the east coast of the USA. Obviously these road trips all have a race at one end or the other and involve towing sailboats.
Last one was during Covid. Drove with my son Danny from San Francisco to Miami Tuesday- Thursday. Raced Saturday and Sunday. Hooked his Star up to the truck and drove 40 hours non-stop to Arizona. Stopped to run down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back in eight hours, to celebrate his 30th. Then we got back in the truck and kept on chugging home for the final 12 hours. That’s a road trip, in my book!
