An old chestnut of course, but after lurking in the background it is back in the daylight. A few months ago the RORC bit the bullet, opening a formal consultation on stacking in its offshore races.

The timing was prompted by the development of the ‘new’ Admiral’s Cup. During confidential discussions by the Admiral’s Cup Advisory Group there was the start of some refreshing openness about a delicate situation. But a lot more bridges need to be crossed before the RORC – and hopefully other clubs around the world – has enough honest information upon which to base a strategy to manage this in the future.
