I missed a shift a couple of years ago, not a huge deal, but it took a while to realise it and get back in phase. It was not in my sailing (I miss those shifts all the time), but this one was in the coaching world. There were signs of a shift coming as some sections of sailing, particularly the America’s Cup, went into freestyle with foiling boats, computer systems to fly the boats and wing sails.
